Yet another gadget made by Tadanobu General Services Corporation, this one originally for the Dornalian Department of Justice's Sanitation Staff, oddly enough. The Sweeper 9000 Defensive Cleaning Supplies System is a complete system of cleaning tools which have surprises for anyone intending to harm both janitorial staff in high risk areas, as well as homemakers and cleaning staff anywhere.
The Sweeper 9000 family consists of a series of ordinary cleaning implements. A mop and bucket on wheels, brooms with dust pans (both household and shop broom sized), Swiffer-type disposable cloth brooms, steam cleaners, as well as refillable spray and aerosol bottles for cleaning fluids such as window cleaner. They work just like their normal RL equivalents at first glance. However, these multiple items share one thing in common--at least one or two defensive applications which can be used to protect their users in case of sudden ambush by home invaders, unruly teenagers, etc.
Namely, in all the long-handled tools, such as the mops, brooms and Swiffer-cloth thingies, are built with carbon fiber bodies treated with chemically resistant coatings, around a skeleton of metal. This enables them to not only endure longer when exposed to things like harsh cleaning agents, they can also be used as fighting staves by their users. Further, these tools can be further broken down, using a simple left hand turn and pull, to reveal both a Sword-Cane which functions similarly to the Deus Ex Dragon's Tooth sword--namely, a "nanotechnologically constructed blade that is dynamically forged on command into a non-eutactic solid," to use the Deus Ex Wiki's words on the subject--and a Spearpoint which is similarly available to the user from the main shaft of the mop itself.
Additionally, the rolling bucket has integral storage space for one or more pistols, and has a radio beacon/"panic button" which can be used to call for help, in the event the situation somehow is not resolved.
As for the spray implements, these are especially nasty pieces of work. Not only can one spray chemicals--or in the case of the steam treatment device, hot steam--onto the offender, but each of these spray implements is not only built out of the same rugged materials as the mops--meaning they can be used to hit people in the head--but they also conceal a close-range blaster pistol inside.
