The most generally Force-oriented of the Schools. Run by Sensei Grigori Batov. To be continued.
OOC: Uses Shinmei canonical powers from Love Hina.
Name of School: People's Acolytes Shinmei School
Other names: Shinmei-ryu, Spooks, Crusaders
Leader of School: Sensei Father Grigori Andreovich Batov of the Grand Shinmei Temple in Hieara Major, Nova Louisiana SSR.
Influence: Second most populous school. Mainly based in Nova Louisiana, it has spread throughout the Workers State to places such as the New Territories, Luxembourgia, and Earth, the biggest Shinmei Temple on Earth located in Kyoto (People's Acolytes Shinmei Temple of Kyoto).
Techniques/Basics:
The Shinmei School is the most radicalized of the People's Acolytes schools. Embracing a militant interpretation of the Code/Oath of the Acolytes and the combat lessons learned battling the Daedra in the 2nd Nova Louisiana War, Batov took the basic techniques of the National Style of swordfighting and refined them into a more aggressive, Force-based style of combat that is the hallmark of Shinmei. In addition, the Shinmei have integrated the use of the Divine Essence, a type of spiritual/psychic power learned from the Eternals, neighbors of the Nova Louisianans in order to perform more exotic and violent attacks, fitting with the Shinmei motto "Evil Unto Evil."
Shinmei artists utilize a larger array of psychic power in their work. Indeed, all attacks in Shinmei, unarmed and armed, are conducted with infusion of the Force and Divine Essence in combination as "Two Weapons Working As One." This makes the art an extremely deadly one, capable of enabling the simplest punch to send a man into orbit, so to speak. Notable in the Shinmei Training Manual is the diminished role of any non-psychic manuevers. Like other schools, however, skill with the basic Acolyte martial art weapons is emphasized.
Shinmei, keeping in tune with their more esoteric psychic traditions, also utilize more powers than the other schools. Some of the most skilled Force users have come from the Shinmei School, and they are known for attacks that are as flashy as they are deadly.
A notable hallmark of the Shinmei School is it variance in terms of doctrine and other quirks. Instead of referring to the People's Will, Shinmei's edition of the Code/Oath refer to a pantheistic "Light of Lights," influenced by both the Divine Essence and Batov's background as an Orthodox Priest. Batov also has commissioned a new rank in the School, known as Bogatyr. Derived from the Russian for "knight-errant" it is in between Comrade First Class and Sensei, and is given to students of exceptional ability. Bogatyr are often assigned to bodyguard duty for members of the Central Committee, and Batov is said to maintain a unit around him at all times.
