Solar Collector:
Ground based, this collector is less efficient at gathering energy than its larger spaceborne counterpart, and many are required to support a base of any size. Its output is approximately 20 units of energy per minute.
Wind Generator:
Occasionally useful on extremely windy planets, this device gathers energy at a variable rate, but may reach a peak output of 50 units of energy per minute in sustained 60+mph winds.
Geothermal Plant:
The only tier two generator, it requires a geothermal vent or other large heat source to function. It gathers approximately 250 units of energy per minute, making it the most efficient powerplant in terms of resource cost.
Fusion Powerplant:
The most efficient powerplant, its long build time(loss of a fusion plant during combat can be catastrophic) and high cost make it a very slow structure to acquire, but its raw output means that several must be constructed, and are often the most heavily defended portions of a base. At 1,000 units of energy per minute, it outstrips any other land based power system.
Metal Extractor:
The basic metal acquisition unit, its efficiency depends on the richness of the vein it taps, and the depth it must penetrate to gain access to useful ores. It ranges anywhere between 3.5 to 9 units of metal per minute.
Metal Maker:
Using energy to matter conversion technology, energy may be traded at a rate of 60:1 for metal. This building is a necessity for mineral poor planets and systems.
MOHO Mine:
More efficient than Metal Extractors, these more powerful mining systems produce a much greater amount of metal for a slightly greater energy input. Metal Extractors will often be destroyed and replaced with MOHO Mines given enough time. Produces between 15 and 27 units of metal per minute
MOHO Metal Maker:
With 15 times the efficiency of a standard metal maker, it costs nearly 5 times as much energy, making its use a balance between energy demands for weapon systems, or metal demands for unit construction in many cases.
